The CW working on a DC Comics “Atom” TV Show

While renewing most of its shows, The CW revealed at TCA they were in very early stages of developing a possible “The Atom” TV series from DC Comics, after fellows “Arrow” and “The Flash” became huge hits for the channel.

Producer Greg Berlanti said he was not allowed to talk about it, but still he did. After introducing the character of Ray Palmer aka “The Atom” in Arrow‘s season 3, he announced a spin-off about this particular character played by Brandon Routh was in the works at The CW. The superhero is known for his ability to shrink and expand himself, and other objects, to advantage. Since Berlanti insisted on the fact it was still in very early stages, it probably means they won’t order any pilot for it during the traditionnal pilot season which just started. Meaning: it won’t happen sometime soon. Maybe because they know they have to leave room on their fall schedule for… CBS’s Supergirl! Another “Ringer situation” seems very likely…

Other news: CW’s chief Marc Pedowitz told reporters at TCA another Supernatural spin-off was in development after their first try last year which ultimately didn’t go to series; and 5 to 6 pilots will be ordered in the next few weeks, with probably two of them appearing in next fall’s schedule.
