AGENTS OF SHIELD (summer) | FOR THE PEOPLE | WHISKEY CAVALIER | GRAND HOTEL | THE FIX | SCHOOLED
– 2 new dramas, 2 new comedies in the fall: that’s pretty much what we expected from ABC, with few moves and a conservative schedule overall. If The Rookie, A Million Little Things, The Kids Are Alright & Single Parents are as strong as they seem to be, the alphabet network could be having a good year.
– Moving American Houseviwe to an ealier slot makes all the sense in the world and paired with The Goldbergs it should be doing a bit better than this year. Two newbies back to back on wednesday from 9.30 to 11 is a bit worrying, though both shows seem compatible. The return of comedies on friday is also a good move.
– An all-scripted sunday waiting for American Idol to come back is probably the wisest move they could have come up with. But it means all three new dramas plus For The People will have to air midseason. It’s a bit much.
– ABC may have a comedy back-up problem in the spring if their newbies fail in the fall since they only have Schooled at his time.
